Pierson Gruettner’s first exposure to the Transportation Industry was in 2008 as an Import Account Manager for a small family-owned Freight Forwarder. There he had an opportunity to participate in a Foreign Exchange Program in Weil am Rhein, Germany. After a month’s stay Pierson Gruettner’s command of the German Language reached a proficient level, and he gained knowledge of the Barge System and Export process in Europe. Pierson would return to the United States and pursue a higher education.

While Pierson Gruettner studied for a bachelor’s degree, he started his own company that would remove graffiti scratches from storefront businesses, apply anti-graffiti film, and worked with a Graphic Designer to produce decals that would be applied to storefront windows. Pierson Gruettner expanded the company and would hire, employ, train, and manage 8 employees. Pierson Gruettner would also develop the company website and Search Engine Optimization (SEO). Pierson would also develop marketing, cold call, develop sales, provide quotes, invoicing, and maintain accounting and payroll.

The week after obtaining his Bachelor of Arts degree in May 2016 Pierson began a position with a company focused on Domestic Transportation. Pierson Gruettner began as a Customer Service Representative, but quickly gained more responsibilities and titles. Pierson managed a furniture accounts distribution from container arrival in the Port of Los Angeles to White Glove Delivery for each individual piece of furniture. Pierson managed the consolidation and routing of freight in Los Angeles to Distribution Hubs throughout the United States and to the Ultimate Consignee’s door delivery with affiliated stations and agents.

Pierson Gruettner saw the International and Domestic sides of Distribution and Consolidation and decided to use the knowledge he had gained to branch out to the Customs Brokerage side of the Transportaion Industry. Pierson Gruettner began his Customs Brokerage experience in 2019 and understands the requirements for a shipment to be accepted by United States Customs and Border Protection (US CBP), along with the delivery of freight from Port Terminals Container Yards (CY), Rail Yards (RY), and Container Freight Stations (CFS). Pierson has gained extensive knowledge of Partner Government Agencies (PGA), obtained necessary commodity licenses, Mexico and Canada Border Crossing, and communicated with US CBP to have commodities released into United States Commerce.
